There are 3 major design flaws. 1) the FONT size is so small that most people can't see it. Kind of like the manual that comes with the HERO camera. 2) Battery life is weak and the one i got didn't work at all after the first hour. Wouldn't take a charge or turn on. DOA 3) it is oriented the wrong direction (unless you can read sideways) and because of the orientation, it prevents you from being able to bend your wrist. And the velcro strop was designed for a child. VERYsmall Wouldn't recommend to anyone especially a friend. Thumbs Down

I need to use this more often to give it all the stars. I've had mine for quite awhile which means it may be an earlier version. Once linked mine worked well on the project that I bought it for. I could have used it on this cruise for my time lapse captures. Battery life is always an issue with GoPro items. Will give it more use upon my return home.

Could they make it more reliable and please put a backlight on it you need to get a flashlight out when you what to do it at night.

My garage door opener is better than the smart remote. I have a GP 6, and a GP 7. Every time I change a battery (which is every hour or so) both cameras have to be re-paired to the remote. Can hardly read the display, no back light. 80 bucks just tossed away.

I haven’t had any problems pairing it and using it with my GoPro 5 unlike GoPro 6 users have mentioned. It actually does what it’s supposed to do and I rather use it than my phone as a remote but....I cannot comprehend my on earth they would not make the screen backlit somehow, even if it was like those Casio watches back in the day, something you know, so unless there’s light u can’t use it
