not what I expected

This is not an IR cut filter as the B&H employee advised me. It actually adds a ton of IR and is almost opaque. A weird filter of limited use.

Worked well for a while...

A good way to get started in infrared photography. In some shots, I got a halo effect that ruined the picture. But that was the exception, not the rule. This happened on a LUMIX FZ1000, not on my Sony A77. I was enjoying using it until I dropped it off a bridge into a river in the Smokies two days ago.

Waiting for spring

I have played around with my filter but being winter there isnt any leaves on trees to make a big difference in the outcome. I have been taking water with old fishing houses and boat pictures. They look a lot better then B&W with a lot of depth and shadows but when spring comes and I get some living subjects like leaves I will know for sure :) I have been shooting in Monochrome so I dont have to take the saturation out later. I dont like editing much. I like to get it right the first time. Didnt have any clouds on this day of example :(

OK so far but still in testing phase

Purchased item to provide a different look to &challenge for my landscape photography. After a couple of outings, I can honestly say it is giving me that "infrared" look. When & under what conditions to use this filter provides a definite challenge. However, given the apparent quality of the product, the product should be up for the tasks ahead. So far, one major draw back is the filter needs to be removed before refocusing. On the positive side, acting as a 4-5 stop ND filter permits shooting in the bright mid-day sun. Also, while this filter is rather pricey & probably will not be used frequently, it is costs about 20% of having a camera converted for IR. Bottom line is that still need to experiment a lot with this filter before I can think infrared. Hopefully, can give a more comprehensive review in the future.

Worth the Price

Far less expensive than converting a camera to infrared. Get a 77mm and step-down rings so you can use it on any lens. This filter requires longer shutter speeds - typically 5-30 seconds, depending on aperture. Use Photoshop to achieve the colors or b&w you want.
