Great piece of kit, bigger and cheaper than my Pelican case. Doesn't quite seem as tough as Pelican but this case should do it's job more than adequately.

very well made, robust and possibly too heavy for some people but will protect the equipment which is what its meant to do.

The case is solid - heavy and bulky, but for this protection I guess that's fine. The irk comes from the foam that is really hard to remove/shape and does not lend itself to shapes that fit any gear you may want to fit. So beware. You may find that 46D version which has inserts and not foam for not much more money - is better, or expect to buy some better foam when you muck up shaping this (or be very patient with a scalpel as the octal shapes just don't lend themselves to shaping). The foam is however high quality in terms of longevity, but not much use if you can't shape it as you need.

This case is very durable and protects your equipment very well. Six latches on case for security. The foam is customizable for you to protect the various items you would like and has two levels of foam.

This case is superbly designed and built like a tank. Fittings for a shoulder strap would have been nice but apart from that, this case is excellent, though rather heavy. The hexagonal pick-and-pluck foam allows a closer fit for your contents than square-cut foam, although the resulting wavy-sided cavities are less appealing visually. There are two pluckable layers totalling 5.25 inches depth, with a thinner base layer of foam at the bottom. So it's deep enough for upright installation of most SLR lenses, other than long telephotos / zooms which must be installed on their side. EDIT: The UK importer can sell replacement pick-and-pluck foam inserts should the need arise. However, if you prefer the square-cut variety, the foam inserts for a Peli 1550 are an exact fit for the Vanguard 46F.
