The reviews all say that this is NOT a landscape lens. I disagree. I think it perfect for landscape. It is a tremendous lens. I have a suite of L lenses and in terms of image quality, this leaves the rest standing. And, of course, the fact that it allows you to focus front to back of the frame, means you are looking at images that couldn't be obtained any other way. I looked at this for ages wondering if it was worth it. Thankfully I decided that it was. It is just magnificent.

What a lens. Despite what all the reviews say, I'm using this for landscape, in addition to the 24mm TS-E. Just finished the first images captured by the lens and I am blown away. The sharpness of the photo is amazing. I've got a suite of L lenses, but this beats them all. Don't even sweat over the price, just buy it.

I debated for a long time before deciding to purchase this lens. In the end, the incredible control of the focal plane became the compelling factor. I also own the 24mm TS-E and have been very pleased with that lens. That said, I am thinking that this has the strong potential to become the favorite lens in my bag. Its not for beginners, and it requires some effort, but for product shots, close ups, still lives and intimate landscape shots it is the real deal. I know it would also be a great portrait lens. Thats just not my genre. Dean O.

The original TS-E 90mm f2.8 was my most used lens. Used it for many years for product still life and architecture photography and loved everything about it. When I saw Canon had updated it I knew I had to upgrade. Much sharper wide open and while similar sharpness ro the original when stopped down, the new lens has much better correction when shifted which could be a problem at the limits of tilt or shift on the old lens. One negative however, the focus throw on the new lens from 3m to infinity is way to short and much more difficult to adjust focus. Has taken me some getting used to and possibly a trade off for its macro designation. Independent tilt and shift mechanism as with the brilliant 17mm and 24mm TS-E's is worth the upgrade alone over the original. A highly recommended lens.

This is a great lens when shooting close ups at an angle using full sensor DSLRs and mirrorless cameras where the focus range is paper thin. The lens allows you keep everything in focus, top to bottom, regardless of the angle you're shooting from. Don't need it a lot, but when I need it, I need it! Last time I used this was when shooting video looking down on a container that contained bedbugs and a small section of mattress material. It's too hard to look straight down at 90 degrees sometimes, so this lens come in very handle for macro type stuff and any close ups at an angle. Also good for routine head shots when shooting from below or above the the eyeline. Keeps your entire subject in focus.
