De lens is robuust gebouwd, ziet er goed uit en voelt ook goed. Ik heb de Nikon Ai versie. Gekoppeld aan mijn Nikon D850 wordt het ingestelde diafragma tijdens de opname automatisch gesloten. Bij het handmatig scherpstellen kan je dat met het diafragma maximaal open doen, een groot pluspunt. Bij een koppeling via een FTZ mount met de Nikon Z7 werkt dit jammer genoeg niet. Het diafragma van de Nikon versie bestaat uit slechts 7 bladen, niet veel om een fraai bokeh te kunnen krijgen. Andere versie van deze lens voor Canon en Sony bevatten 9 of zelfs 13 diafragma bladen., jammer dat de Nikon versie er maar 7 heeft. Het handmatig instellen van het diafragma gaat iets soepeler dan je zou willen. Al met al toch een lens die ik vaak zal gaan gebruiken in het 2X gebied.

I'm only an amateur but I wanted to get myself a proper macro lens and after many hours of research I decided on this one. The 2x magnification makes capturing tiny detail a breeze, and it can also focus to infinity so I have also used it for everyday pictures. Images are sharp and full of detail, definitely made the right choice I think. The lens is fully manual but the focus ring is smooth and easy to operate. It's a good weight but not so much as to be cumbersome, I've managed a full day of use with handheld only and had no issues, the included UV filter is a good bonus too. Delivery was fast and arrived well packaged.

I have only had the lens a short time but my first impressions are very favourable. The build quality is lovely with precise focusing. The working distance is good which worked well in my first attempts at photographing spiders. The extra magnification beats the opposition hands down. All in all an excellent addition to my kit bag and I am looking forward to exploring the hidden world of close up invertebrates.

I have only had the lens a short time but my first impressions are very favourable. The build quality is lovely with precise focusing.
