I love this lens. I have the 50mm f1.4 and the Tri-elmar 16-18-21. This nicely complements those two. I am mostly shooting with the M10P. It is the best portrait lens I have shot with. The bokeh is very pleasing and almost no chromatic aberration that makes pictures look tack sharp. I used to use the Sony A7R3 with the 85mm f1.4 for my portraits before. Now I use this most of the time.

The lens is great, but almost impossible to use unless you buy the magnifier for the viewfinder. With a rangefinder camera, you're not looking through the lens when you focus. This lens is the next to longest you can use. That means that the area of coverage in the unmagnified viewfinder is pretty small. So be advised. You'll get great shots, but be prepared to shell out for another accessory.

THE LEICA LENSE DESIGNER HAD WANTED FOR A LONG TIME TO DESIGN A REALLY FABULOUS 50mm LENSE, BUT LEICA KNEW IT WOULD BE HAND MADE AND VERY EXPENSIVE. LEICA SAID NO ONE WOULD PAY THAT MUCH FOR A 50 mm LENSE. MANY YEARS PASSED AND FINALLY LEICA ALLOWED THE DESIGNER TO CONTINUE. I HAVE ONE AND I SHOOT ALMOST EVERY THING WITH IT. I LOVE IT AND IF I DIDN'T HAVE IT I WOULD BE LOST UNTIL I COULD GET ANOTHER ONE JUST LIKE IT.

FABULOUS LENS. EXTREMELY SHARP AND THE COLORS ARE JUST BEAUTIFUL THAT I HAVE SEEN FROM IT SO FAR. I LIKE THE FACT THAT IT IS NOT NEARLY AS HEAVY AS MY EARLIER LEICA 90MM LENS.

I finally returned to Havana to conduct a workshop for a few aspiring professional photographers. I took the 90 Summicron along to see how I managed my Leica set-up and the weight the system management I'll have when I'm working. I took a few portraits with the 90 and I liked the very much, since lately I seem to be focusing on head-shots. The lens was a dream to use, and not too much of a weight burden. Overall, the lens is truly great! Though most who are used to auto focus will complain about some difficulty focusing this lens, but that is the Leica experience, to return to when the photographers' skills are more important that the equipment. For me, the craft of being a professional photographer is making my idea of the image paramount in the experience of shooting.
