Strength: Sharp enough in the center, even wide open! Gets adequate in the sides and corners after some stopping down. Weakness: Has a tendency to miss focus badly on all distances om my D3200. Should be sharper in the sides and corners, which is the whole point of buying a lens that show more things out there! So all of Nikons wide-zooms are not worth the money. (save for the 14-24/2.8) The asking price is way too high for the average image quality you get. Better to take two images with the 18-55mm, and you have the whole scene in better quality!

I took this lense on my trip to Arizona. It was perfect for taking pictures of the landscape. Although maybe not the best lens for astrophotography, I still managed to get a few good pictures. I only had the camera and lens for two weeks and first time DSLR owner. This is what I was able to capture.

This lens is all it's purported to be. It is sharp across all focal lengths. I use it on a D7200. The difference between my kit lens at 18mm and 12 mm is astonishingly significant. Learning to anchor the foreground is a key to making photos draw in the viewer. It is so much fun to get creative with this lens.
