Good Points: The autofocus is fast and accurate resulting in pin sharp images of young kids playing. Improvement Points: The lens makes a little noise while focussing

Good Points: Very small and goes well with the Sony A7s. Improvement Points: Should have been provided with weather sealing for outdoor use.

Good Points: Good IQ, nice FOV, pleasing bokeh, tiny and AF is significantly better than the 50 1.8 (which is in honesty and under appreciated lens, great but for its crippled AF). Wonderful walk-around lens Improvement Points: Lens hood is a bit flimsy

As a longtime Sony user, I've been distressed by hte price and bulk of recent lenses, magnificent as they are. I now own two AF Samyang lenses, and every new release seems to push the quality higher. They're a more than decent match for the 42mp sensor, and to my eye they outperform zoom lenses of all types, easily, especially the 45mm. I largely shoot portraits and nudes, so armour-plated durability and waterproofing aren't issues. Having said that, I suspect the lenses will be around as long as the camera body is, and probably longer. Maybe, in an ideal world, I'd also own the heavyweight Sony products, or their Sigma equivalent: but in that same ideal world, I'd still have the Samyangs, because they balance well on my Alpha 7R III, give excellent quality, and are small and light enough to carry all day.
