This is a crazy lens. It is the sharpest lens I have got. It even outperforms Panasonic f1.7 20 mm in the center and shows better corner sharpness too. Vignetting and chromatic abberations are more or less negligiable. It is light, very well built and fully usable from 3.5. And it is cheap. If you defish it, you get practcally fully usable ultra-wide shots at f5.6 with splendid center sharpness and decent corners, escpecially with 4K-Video as corners are partly being cropped away. Contrary to what lenstip reports I saw it clearly outperform Olympus 8mm f/1.8 at all apertures concerning sharpness, CAs and vignetting. This is my advice: If you want to do astro-photography with the fisheye, go for the Samyang rather than for the Olympus and look for a good upvoted mechnical astro-tracker which is available for under 200 EUR.

Ofschoon je close-ups kan doen met deze super wijde lens, sommigen noemen dat macro dan, is er geen echte bokeh. Bij de kleinste lens opening zou je een maximale scherpte diepte verwachten maar dat is niet zo. Al na f/11 komt er duidelijk diffractie. En met de grootste lensopening is de voorgrond mooi scherp maar ook dan is de bokeh bijna afwezig. Kortom, dit is een hele wijde hoek lens voor grote onderwerpen zoals landschappen en straten en nachtelijke astroschappen. De fisheye vervorming is erg netjes regelmatig verdeeld dus dat geeft een natuurlijke weergave, dus absoluut geen snor vervorming. Voor de prijs is het een keurig lensje die alles behoorlijk goed rendeert! Deze lens heb ik een aantal malen op straat laten vallen maar blijkt er niets om te geven.

This is a good lens and fits well to my Panasonic GH5, but I just didn’t get on with the field of view, so returned it. The build was good quality, as was the operation of the aperture and focus rings, so I’d recommend it to someone that wanted a 15mm 35 full frame equivalent lens.
