I have been restricted when taking photos under floodlight with my current lens not able to do the business. The 70-200 f2.8 now meets my needs and requirements.

Purchased to give a constant aperture of F2.8 for low light wildlife photography. Considered the Canon alternative but decided that the Sigma gave at least comparable performance at a much lower price. Actually purchased this as a 9+ used lens and is in pristine condition. The lens is primarily for use with an R7 camera using an adapter ring. Works very smoothly with no issues even when paired with a 1.4 teleconverter. Build quality seems excellent and the optics likewise are superb. Several features of the lens can be modified if paired with a docking station but the standard settings work very well. Two features worth mentioning. The tripod foot is machined to be directly compatible with ARCA Swiss tripod mounts doing away with the need for a separate plate. The lens, although heavy, has an internal focus system so the camera and lens, when tripod mounted, remain fully balanced regardless of focal length in use. Overall. no regrets with this purchase.

I bought this lens in a bit of a hurry as I was travelling to Le Mans 24hr race and realised my Nikon 200-500mm may struggle in low light. Admittedly I had been planning on purchasing this lens eventually but ended up doing so much sooner than expected. I'm glad I did though! The lens is very good quality and focuses quickly, I was able to get some decent shots in low light and in the day time I felt I got more good shots than I did with my 200-500mm. Also it is considerably cheaper than the equivalent Nikon lens. I've attached a couple of shots I got with this lens on my D500. Bare in mind I'm a amateur and do this as a hobby... I'm sure a pro could do a lot more with this lens!
