sharp enough (same or better than Sony 55/1,8). beautiful color rending with character. well control CA (better than 55/1.8) bigger and heavy, but balanced on Sony a7iii, (Im ready with that before buying). my rating 9/10

This is a great lens for the Sony E mount system. Super sharp and works great as a general purpose lens. I personally dont so much macro, but for general purpose photography the focus throw doesnt bother me at all as Im not focusing super close on my subject. The only downside is that there is no weather sealing. Overall great lens that will outlast my camera body.

I must say after 22 years of professional photography, it is incredible that one may purchase a lens of this calibre for so little money. What this lens can do in terms of controlling all aberrations and producing not only an incredibly razor sharp image, but also a beautiful looking image leaves me speechless. It is truly an amazing optic that will be the last lens ever sell. Brilliant glass and mechanics. AAAAA+++++

Modern lenses can offer more than optical quality. Image stabilization (IS) and auto focus make the frequency of great capture much higher. This lens is as great optically as my old leitz sumicrons but much bigger and heavier. Fortunately, Sony is now making lenses that are great glass with modern technology. Guess i'll try their 90mm again, the used one i bought was probably a bad sample.
