De PS5 Slim biedt dezelfde uitstekende prestaties als de originele PS5, maar in een kleiner, compacter ontwerp. Met een 1 TB SSD en twee USB-C poorten aan de voorzijde is de dagelijkse gebruikservaring verbeterd. De schakelbare schijfdrive is handig voor wie later fysieke media wil gebruiken. Nadelen zijn de nog steeds beperkte DualSense-accuduur, de extra kosten voor de verticale staander en het ontbreken van nieuwere Wi-Fi-standaarden. Voor wie geen PS5 heeft, is dit een uitstekende keuze; voor bestaande bezitters is een upgrade minder zinvol.

I've been a PlayStation fan since the first one, but I held back on buying this version, as I couldn't justify the price, without the platform having any of my favourite games. That changed this year, so I made the upgrade. The device is bigger than expected, but the fact that it is backward compatible with the PS4 games, makes it worthwhile.
