De Canon EOS R6 Mark II met RF 50mm 1.8 biedt uitstekende prestaties voor zowel fotografie als video. De 24MP full-frame sensor levert scherpe beelden met veel detail en de autofocus is snel en betrouwbaar, zelfs bij weinig licht. De beeldstabilisatie is krachtig en de camera kan tot 40 beelden per seconde schieten met een diepe buffer. Dankzij de dubbele SD-kaartsleuven is opslag veilig. Wel is de body groter en zwaarder dan APS-C modellen, en bij gebruik van de elektronische sluiter kan rolling shutter optreden. De prijs ligt hoger, maar de prestaties zijn topklasse.

I've had this camera since late 2024 and am very pleased with it for my astrophotography work. It is excellent in low light conditions and its timelapses keep on going, faithfully, all night. I use a dual battery grip to cover that time frame. My lenses are wide-angle primes for Milky Way and up to 100 mm for individual objects at 4-5 second exposures, maximum, unless I track them. But my main interest is widefield work, for meteor captures, nightscapes and the Milky Way. I use a Samyang/Rokinon 14mm with adapter 80% of the time. But I also have a couple fast 40 mm and 50 mm Canon lenses for closer shots. Most of my lenses aren't super expensive but the camera compensates for their middle-of-the-road quality.
