Canon EOS R6 Body

The Canon EOS R6 is one of a duo of full-frame mirrorless cameras from the big-name in photography. It represents a coming-of-age for the EOS R system and shows off what this heritage company really is capable of when it puts its mind to it. You get great image quality, superb autofocusing and fast frame rates. It offers a lot of best-in-class capabilities, but there are some 4K video issues, plus it’s quite pricey right now.

Wist na 5DII & 6D dat ik bij de R6 op spiegelloos zou overstappen maar vond 2.500 wat prijzig. Na een studie van het prijsverloop van vergelijkbare producten bedacht ik om toe te happen bij 1.500. En dat moment kwam. Achteraf bleek het zo goed getimed, kort daarna waren ze op en explodeerde de prijs, dat ik nog wat spijt had dat ik er geen twee heb gekocht. Geweldige koop zeker voor dat bedrag. Wat is het een heerlijk apparaat. Maakt oude Canon EF lenzen top. En fotograferen kan met hoge ISO-waarden, 2500 is sowieso geen probleem. Het is mijn eerste systeemcamera, dus ik kan 'm helaas niet met andere spiegelloze camera's vergelijken. Stap naar deze systeemcamera vanaf spiegelreflex heeft iets van de stap van een compact camera naar spiegelreflex. Alsof er een waas van de werkelijkheid af blijkt te kunnen.

The Canon R6 is impressive for landscape photography. It has remarkable dynamic range to capture a wider array of highlight and shadow detail, which is ideal for landscape photos. It also performs amazingly well in low light, with excellent noise management when shooting in dimly lit conditions. On top of that, the camera is well-built, with weather-sealing for more peace of mind outdoors, and comfortable to handle. That said, it isn't the most portable camera, and it has a lower-resolution sensor than many of its peers, meaning you'll have a bit less leeway to crop in your photos.

Initially I had high hopes, then realised I was taking rubbish photos because the rear LCD was still on... But you can't turn off live view. The R5 has the option to do this (option 6 in the screen info options), but the R6 does not. If you want a blank screen you have to turn it off completely, so it won't even work when you flip it out, without changing the settings. Had eerst een Canon EOS 4000D en nu geüpgraded naar deze en enorm tevreden! En super goede camera voor een gevorderde!
