So I was having some issues with my D800 but wanted to stay in the 800 series. I had three choices: D800E, D810, D850. I ruled out the D800E as it was slow and unrefined. I narrowed my choices down to the D810 and D850. I shoot mainly lowlight sports, and already have an OM1 preordered, as well as the D3S/D4/D4S.  Occasionally however, I need a high MP camera. Yes its a great camera - BUT! I've used Nikon for over 40 years - it took me over an hour to figure out how to change the shutterspeed - Ive never read an instruction manual in my life - won't start now! As usual with Nikon the software is rubbish...Alternative free RAW converter far better... Whoever set 'lock mode' as default should have his testicles removed with a very large blunt knife! I'm going back to my D2x Thank god for Photoshop!

This is my first full frame DSLR and I am enjoying every bit of it.

I have had the D 810 since 2015 & have gotten great pictures each time, some of the photos are so good it makes me look good, I feel the 810 is best in portraiture shooting, but I used it in sports & landscape too, my 810 now is primarily my back up to my 850.!
