De Sony HX99 is een zeer compacte reiszoomcamera met een indrukwekkende 30x optische zoom en 4K video. De beeldkwaliteit is goed bij voldoende licht, maar bij weinig licht ontstaat snel ruis. Het kantelbare touchscreen en de elektronische zoeker maken het gebruiksgemak groot, al zijn de knoppen klein en soms lastig te bedienen. De camera ondersteunt RAW en heeft snelle autofocus bij groothoek. De batterijduur is matig, dus een extra accu is aan te raden. Het MicroSD-slot en de relatief hoge prijs zijn punten om rekening mee te houden. Voor wie een veelzijdige, compacte camera zoekt, is dit een sterke keuze, maar verwacht geen prestaties als een systeemcamera.

A compact camera that can slip onto a pocket. Good optical zoom. Very small buttons make it a slightly difficult to use, but that is acceptable if you want a compact camera.

I bought this camera for my business and it ticks all the boxes except for the issue of trying to upload video to my Macbook Pro. The quality is amazing and the camera is small and easy to fit in my pocket.

One of the few compact digital cameras with excellent features that easily can be carried all day on a belt pouch. I like the zoom, battery life, display options etc. (For those needing reading glasses, the pop up viewfinder enables you to get the quick shot when there's no time. Also in bright sunlight when the screen is difficult to see the viewfinder has information displayed - clever!). BUT, this is my second HX99 and again we (that's my "techie" son & I can't get the Wi-Fi to work & many others have similar issues.

I’m still getting to grips with the more advanced features of this camera - there are a lot of them - I’m surprised at the number of advanced feature. It’s more than a simple point and shoot (but it does that very well)
