De Philips TAR2509 is een klassieke draagbare radio met FM/MW-ontvangst, geschikt voor thuis en onderweg. Het apparaat werkt zowel op netstroom als op twee D-batterijen, wat flexibiliteit biedt. De analoge afstemming is eenvoudig en de LED-indicator helpt bij het vinden van een sterk signaal. De geluidskwaliteit wordt als goed ervaren, mede door de aparte muziek- en nieuwsmodus. Nadelen zijn het ontbreken van digitale functies en het gebruik van grote D-batterijen, die minder makkelijk verkrijgbaar zijn. Bluetooth of andere moderne aansluitingen ontbreken volledig.

Very pleased with the performance of the portable radio. I have no TV so rely on radio for news and entertainment. Reception good, clarity excellent.

Unfortunately I have had nothing but static on the radio.As I had a nasty fall and have been 'laid up' for 5 weeks I haven' t done anything about it. First thing I have ever bought at Noel Leeming that I am not happy with!

My husband is terminally ill and loves his music. I really didn't realise you can still get these radios. It has changed his day, which is spent full time in bed. He can now listen to what he wants. Great little radio with good reception and thoroughly recommend it.
