Sangean Dt-160 Pocket Radio Wit

Does what i t should - works where all other FM radios have failed. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that earbuds don't fit my ears all that well and cord is a bit tangly

I have both this and the same company's much smaller (and newer) pocket radio powerd by 2 AAA batteries. This one uses two AA batteries. The advantage of the newer one is that it has a 90 minute shut off--useful for those who listen to the radio while going to sleep--and a clock. On the other hand, the two AA batteries give this one stupendous battery life. And it still fits in your shirt pocket. I used to use a Sony pocket radio, but I like the Sangean products more, and this one has been a real workhorse for me. Reception is OK, and its a snap to program the stations--10 FM and 5 AM, which just right for the SF Bay Area where I live.

I use this with noise isolating ear buds in the shop - very satisfactory.

Wanted something which tuned an AM station so that I could listen to play-by-play on radio while watching a minor baseball team play. This radio is "the cat's meow" as far as I'm concerned. Most AM radios drift or require an extended pole antenna. The DT-160 doesn't drift and uses an efficient (my opinion) internal ferrite antenna. I'm a happy guy!!!
