De Sangean PR-D17 is een hoogwaardige draagbare radio, speciaal ontworpen voor mensen met een visuele beperking. De radio biedt uitstekende AM/FM ontvangst, duidelijke stereo speakers en handige functies zoals spraakprompts, grote knoppen, klok, alarm en sleep timer. De RDS-informatie en meerdere talen maken het gebruiksgemak groot. Wel is het AM-geluid wat dof door het ontbreken van bandbreedte-instelling en kan band scannen traag zijn door de spraakprompts. Ook zijn er geen bass/treble instellingen en is het apparaat relatief groot. Voor wie zoekt naar een toegankelijke, veelzijdige radio met topontvangst is dit een uitstekende keuze.

I recently developed macular degeneration and can no longer work a standard radio (at least with any ease). This radio has saved the day. Controls are clear and easy to use. Selections of individual stations for the preset buttons was simple, and the buttons themselves are easy to locate. One button that announces the time, even when the radio is turned off. Only one complaint. I could not read the setup instructions, so a fully sighted person had to do that. It would be nice to have a large-print sheet with the basic setup, without having to wade through "don't use this radio in the bathtub." So, many thanks for offering this radio, and at a reasonable price.

I love this radio. Everything talks, and is very intuitive. The sound quality exceeded my expectations! I wish you could turn down the volume on the voice prompts. It would be amazing to have it be bluetooth, but fabulous.
