Dvd Hotel Transylvania

A good movie for the whole family. But 3D effects leave a lot to be desired. It feels lile they just did not use the capabilities if 3D very well.

Frankenstein, Dracula, the Mummy and the Werewolf all live together in a hotel in 21st century Carpathia. When a descendant of Van Helsing falls for Dracula's daughter, he soon finds out that they are destined enemies, which, causes for a rocky romance...

A great movie for everyone. Has jokes for the adults and crazy actions of the monsters for the kids. Story is good and predictable but of course this is aimed towards kids. PQ - Very clear video thanks to modern computer animation. 3D - I was hoping for more out of a computer animated feature but there was some depth but not a lot to wow me and as for pop out effects, I didn't see anything at all. There were areas that it could be used but it just wasn't there or maybe brought out more. Audio - The music in this movie gets the floor bumping with the beat and over all sounds great. This film is great for Halloween for the kids, but its also great during anytime you want a quick fun trip.

This is a great little animated movie where a human and monster fall in love. The AQ and PQ are both excellent. Until the extras you almost getting the feeling this is Pixar like, almost a spin off of Monsters Inc. As for extra content you only get about 41 minutes worth and the short included is not as good as Pixar's shorts are. You do however get a commentary, a DVD copy and a Digital copy (online version) that was still valid. Lots of stars were used for the voices and this (IMO) was Adam Sandlers best work. The cute Mavis character was voiced by the cute Selena Gomez.

Not as impressively funny as I was expecting to see given the comedic talents involved but nonetheless a regular run of the mill family animated entertaining film featuring cinema's most famous scary monsters from over the years. The side note being a subplot featuring Dracula's daughter. That's funny in-itself. Outside of that Sony turns out a nice looking PQ & AQ reference blu with shining colors and a smooth visual spectacle. The 5.1 DTS track is clear and crisp. A good bundle of the usual type of extra's completes this nice offering, best bought on the under $10 tag for which I was able to score.
