Dvd You're Next

You're Next is one of the stronger films in this new set of (mostly) re-releases from Lionsgate, with solid technical merits and some appealing supplements. This particular SteelBook offers the "alternate" color scheme that a couple of the others in this series do, and should appeal to collectors, especially those who like similarly branded sets. Recommended .

In a remote woodland holiday home, the Davison’s family reunion is shattered when an arrow kills one of the guests — the first sign that the house is about to be besieged by psychotic killers in animal masks.

It was a good slasher/home invasion movie. The acting was good, there was a good amount violence and gore and the movie was entertaining all the way through. But, the movie is not without imperfections. Some of the decisions the characters take are questionable and the movie is at times pretty unbelievable. Overall, it was a fun surprise and an entertaining movie.

I was blown away by You're Next, I went into it not knowing much other than it got good reviews. I was pleasantly surprised by the flick. It is fast paced, fun, brutal movie. It also has an outstanding soundtrack. It is 80's in vibe, in that it wears it's influences on its sleeve. That being said it is not a nostalgia picture, or worn out re-hash to capitalize on fans of genre based films of the 80's. Highly recommended.

A good movie. I had predicated the ending halfway through, but enjoyable nonetheless. A good popcorn flick if you don't go in expecting too much. PQ and audio both top notch.
