Sony Pictures Man Who Would Be King

The PQ quality is better than the previous DVD and blu-ray, and the digibook is a nice presentation overall. This is the one true fans of the film will want. But man, there’s a lot of room for improvement. Only a mono track and the only extra is a vintage “making of” 12 minute segment? It’s kind of criminal that far lesser movies have gotten a lot more attention and love, and a classic John Huston movie with Caine & Connery at the top of their game gets a bare bones release? This one doesn’t get mentioned in most articles and discussions about the great 70’s movies, but it should be. Besides Huston, Caine, and Connery’s great work, Christopher Plummer is outstanding as Rudyard Kipling, Maurice Jarre did an excellent score, and Edith Head did the great costumes. It’s just a great movie!

This is one of the greatest adventure films ever produced - other reviews can give you the details. All I care about is the quality of the Blu-Ray transfer. It is a splendid upgrade over any previous incarnation and probably looks better than the film did in theaters in 1975!
