Its hard to make a Stephen King story into a movie for some reason. Some attempts have been terrible. This one is just right. It captures the young experience of the story protagonists extremely well and has just the right mix of horror, action and drama. Its interesting that the film makers chose to untangle the two parts of the story in the book, the childhood experience and then the return to Derry and "It" as adults, into two separate films in strict chronological order. Its one of the few times I feel a film has improved on Stephen King's original story telling.

Valió la pena haber esperado tantos años, superó por mucho mis expectativas. Las comparaciónes con la versión de 1990 son innecesarias, ya que dicha versión fue una miniserie y la adaptación está muy mal hecha, en cambio en esta cinta actual y primera adaptación cinematográfica es bastante fiel al libro, Bill Skarsgard encarna muy bien a Pennywise dándole un toque mas sombrío. Una muy buena película después de todo.

Ja tietenkin tästä elokuvasta kirjoittaessa on vähintäänkin pakko mainita Bill Skarsgårdin esittämä Pennywise, joka on käytännössä jo nyt noussut ikoniseksi ja tunnistettavaksi kauhuhirviöksi. Skarsgårdin roolisuoritus on hieno, mutta hänen maskeerauksensa tuntuu edelleen yliyrittämiseltä – eikö kirjassa ollut alun perin ideana, että klovni pystyisi houkuttelemaan lapsia luokseen eikä säikyttämään heitä pois?
