Wild Hearts PS5

Wild Hearts is overall a very visually pretty game, and the story and idea behind it is interesting, but executed it is NOT well done. Very buggy, controls it tells you to use are not mapped properly and do not do anything. I had to feel around on my controller to find out what button was actually tied to what action. Armor glitches through your character's body constantly, which is forgivable, but the voice acting ruins it all over again. Overall, a rushed, poor game, highly disappointed in this one.

Wild Hearts is a nice change of pace in the monster hunting sub genre of games, the attention to feudal Japanese cultural even down to the voice actors, the inclusion of Karakuri which is a dope mechanic once you get into the swing of using them against the monsters. The weapon types are really interesting and easy to pick up (especially if you’ve dabbled in any of the Monster Hunter games). The story itself is actually very interesting and has highs and lows. The endgame content could use some work but that can be fixed with future patches and/or further entries into this series. In summation, if you like MH you’ll like this more than likely and this game has loads of potential

Je weet dat je een succesformule in handen hebt, als andere ontwikkelaars je ideeën in andere games overnemen. Die gedachte moest wel door het hoofd van de Monster Hunter-ontwikkelaars gegaan zijn toen Wild Hearts aan de wereld getoond werd. De gelijkenissen zijn niet te vermijden, maar gelukkig slaagt Wild Hearts er ook in meer dan een simpele kloon te zijn.

While Wild Hearts doesn't shy away from its inspiration, it's unique spin on a tried and tested formula sets it apart from its contemporaries.
