Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster - Special Edition - PS5

The original Dead Rising shows its age these days but it’s still a fantastic experience for those who can adapt to it. Deluxe Remaster addresses this, adding a whole host of small additions, quality of life improvements and a beautiful graphical overhaul that keeps the core of the game intact. As much as I did miss the original voice cast, Deluxe Remaster cements itself as the way to play Dead Rising.

Dead Rising is an action and adventure series that challenges players to find the truth behind zombie outbreaks while battling hordes of the undead in new and exciting ways.

Dead Rising’s Deluxe Remaster makes changes big and small to an all-time classic. Some changes work, some don’t, and ultimately none of them feel essential. Dead Rising remains a great game with or without this particular reconditioning. This Deluxe Remaster works best as an interesting thought experiment: what if Dead Rising released in 2024? It would be shinier, have autosaves, and noticeably fear its potential audience. — Jack Zustiak

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Review ( PS5 ) – Zombies are delightful playthings aren’t they? When Dead Rising blasted its way onto Xbox 360 in 2006, it concocted a pristine new art form. The art of experimenting in all the different ways you can turn hapless stumbling zombies into thickened tomato slurry by providing you with a collection of diverse weaponry and machinery to carry out gruesome zombie genocide. Now after 18 long years, Frank West returns in a refurbished state thanks to this Deluxe Remaster, but is the fresh slather of leather polish on Frank’s jacket enough to convince you of the deluxe in this remaster, or is it all spit and no shine?
