Madden NFL 18 brengt verbeterde graphics en animaties dankzij de Frostbite-engine, wat zorgt voor een realistischere en mooiere presentatie. De nieuwe Longshot-verhaallijnmodus is een opvallende toevoeging, maar biedt minder echte gameplay dan verwacht. MUT Squads maakt het mogelijk om samen online te spelen, en de verschillende speelstijlen geven spelers meer keuze. Toch zijn er ook minpunten: Franchise Mode is nauwelijks vernieuwd, de verdediging voelt zwakker aan dan de aanval, en het commentaar herhaalt zich regelmatig. Voor fans van de serie zijn de grafische verbeteringen en nieuwe modi aantrekkelijk, maar wie op grote vernieuwingen in de gameplay hoopt, kan teleurgesteld raken.

Got the box wrapped and on time. The disk they gave me is bad. It will stop downloading at 12% and say “download has stopped”. I’ve tried to resume download, restart xbox1, and I also installed another game I bought today with no issues. I now see why the game was much cheaper than all the others. I called customer support to verify and they said it is an issue with the CD.
