Need for Speed: Payback biedt een grote open wereld, veel races en uitgebreide aanpassingsmogelijkheden voor auto's. De graphics en het geluid zijn indrukwekkend en de gameplay is toegankelijk en snel. Toch wordt het spel vaak bekritiseerd vanwege het grind-gevoel: je moet veel herhalen om vooruit te komen, vooral door het willekeurige Speed Card-upgradesysteem. Het verhaal en de personages zijn weinig inspirerend en de AI voelt vaak oneerlijk aan. Voor liefhebbers van arcade-racers met veel aanpassingen is het een vermakelijke keuze, maar verwacht geen diepgaande simulatie of sterke verhaallijn.

Its a good game if u know what your doing when tuning a car and not just maxing out the car to full u kinda have to have a idea how real life mechanics of a car work if not you just slowing down the car even if its maxed out because it dont have the right hightto grip or its not stiff enough etc

Its a great game! I mean ive been spoiled by Forza, but i do really enjoy the gameplay.
