Omerta: City of Gangsters biedt een originele mix van gangster-simulatie en tactische gevechten, met veel aandacht voor karakterontwikkeling en een sfeervolle setting. Fans van strategie en maffia-verhalen vinden hier zeker plezier, maar het economische deel is simpel en de interface voelt onhandig op console. Technische problemen komen voor en de gevechten zijn niet altijd even spannend. Het concept is sterk, maar de uitvoering had beter gekund. Geschikt voor wie houdt van het thema en bereid is wat gebreken te accepteren.

I got to say that I couldn't ever reac what I thought was going to be actual game play, not just set-up and doing stuff on a map. The 17 year old lad down the road was baffled too.

This is an okay RTS (real time strategy), but it just feels like XCOM with a gangster skin (no aliens). Great game, but it gets kinda boring fairly quickly.

I love these types of games, but there's just not much to it. I played it maybe for a week, just can't get into it.
