Unbox: Newbie's Adventure is een vrolijke 3D-platformer met kleurrijke werelden, veel humor en unieke springmechanieken. Je kunt veel verzamelen en de game biedt leuke lokale multiplayer. Toch zijn de besturing en camera vaak frustrerend, en voelt het verzamelen in de grote werelden soms saai en herhalend. Glitches en technische problemen komen regelmatig voor. Het verhaal is kort en mist diepgang. De game is vooral leuk voor jongere spelers of fans van verzamelplatformers, maar verwacht geen perfect afgewerkte ervaring.

Cubed3 Rating Unbox: Newbie's Adventure does have appealing factors, such as a breadth of challenges and large sprawling hubs; however, the game is somewhat let down by poor visuals coupled with frustrating platforming sections that can often go wrong by no fault of your own. Unbox has released in a year where mascot platformers have returned with a vengeance, and unfortunately cannot stand toe to toe with them.

As some other reviews stated, the graphics are poor quality, especially for a Nintendo Switch which delivers games such as Mario Odyssey. The loading times are to be desired also, it can take a long while to loads, which can be a bore for anyone young playing. Any price higher that £15 is over priced. So so so bad. This game looks like it is playing on a VHS, it is so blurry it is like some 80s horror movie. The port is laughable and a massive shame. It looks nothing like advertised. You've been warned.
