Halo 2 wordt geprezen om zijn sterke multiplayer, diepere verhaal en verbeterde graphics, vooral de cutscenes. De mogelijkheid om twee wapens tegelijk te gebruiken voegt strategie toe. Toch zijn er ook duidelijke nadelen: het verhaal eindigt abrupt, sommige levels zijn verwarrend en repetitief, en de nadruk op plasmawapens wordt als zwak ervaren. De remastered graphics zien er goed uit, maar maken het spel soms te donker. Over het algemeen is Halo 2 een sterke shooter, maar niet zonder duidelijke minpunten.

Although this is a really great game, it is not backwards compatible with my XBOX 360 Elite. But I will hang on to it for the future,

Best halo, and probably the most fun game I've played. Hopefully this hits the original Xbox backwards compatibility list. I'd love to see this game on line again!
