The Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival Edition - PS4
Plus- en minpunten
door onze specialisten
The Witch and the Hundred Knight: Revival Edition biedt een unieke mix van duistere humor en actie-RPG gameplay.

As per the norm in gaming today, the PS3's The Witch and the Hundred Knight got remade. However, its Revival Edition included a huge correction to its action-RPG formula that must have made it a far more enjoyable experience. The original version probably would have reminded me a lot of the NES' Crystalis . When I first played that game, I loved it, but my enjoyment was diminished a lot upon replaying it for one simple reason: The lack of buttons on that system's controller. You got multiple swords throughout the game, with each one being strong against some foes and weak against others. The lack of buttons meant you couldn't tap one to switch weapons, so you'd have to go to a menu screen to do so. And due to the nature of the game, you'd be doing that very frequently. Back then, I didn't know any better, but when playing it after getting used to more modern hardware, all that menu-hopping became downright unbearable.

I heard a sequel was coming out and this has been sitting in my wish list for a while but it didn't come close to what I wanted. I really tried to like it but about 6 hours in I called it quits. It became really repetitive and overall the combat was pretty hard unless you abuse the system.. which again, it became repetitive and not very fun. Also the cut scene were SO long. I understand having a long cut scene every now and again, but there were some that were unimaginably long. There's even an option to fast forward or skip them altogether which is nice in replayings of games, but wanting to skip a cut scene first playthrough because of how long it was? Nope.

This game is all about adult topics so despite the cartoon appearance it is not for kids. Chalk full of dark humor and this game sets out and blatantly ignores all the PC tip-toeing that ruin other games. Very funny indeed, if you like dark humor.

Nice game not for everybody. I enjoyed it a lot dialogue heavy cuteness made it like watching an anime.

I played the original version on the ps3 and loved that game to pieces. My only complaint on the ps3 was how hard it was to distinguish objects in the environment because of quality visual issues. This version takes care of that. Still love the game, the characters, and the beautiful updated models/graphics. This is the 1st NIS game I have played. Metallia is my fav. Otherwise, item as described, came within expected arrival, no damage, packaged neatly, thank you.
