The fighting mechanics are rock solid with responsive controls and satisfying impact, earning consistent praise across reviews. What makes this edition worthwhile is the substantial content: full Arcade Mode with six different paths representing each SF generation, comprehensive Story Mode, Team Battle for local multiplayer, and all 28 characters from the base game plus DLC seasons. The new V-Trigger II system adds meaningful strategic options to every fighter. However, buyers should know this represents what the 2016 release should have been - it took two years to reach this state. Additional season pass characters still require separate purchases, and difficulty spikes (particularly with final bosses) can be punishing. The Extra Battle Mode's pay-per-attempt structure using in-game currency may frustrate some players. For newcomers, this is an excellent complete package at a reasonable price.
