Ice Age: Scrat's Nutty Adventure is een eenvoudig 3D platformspel dat vooral geschikt is voor jonge kinderen en families. De besturing is makkelijk te leren en de sfeer is herkenbaar voor fans van de Ice Age-films. Het spel biedt leuke verzamelobjecten en is ideaal om samen te spelen. Tegelijkertijd is de moeilijkheidsgraad erg laag, waardoor volwassenen weinig uitdaging vinden. De camerabesturing wordt vaak als frustrerend ervaren en de speelduur is kort in verhouding tot de prijs. Ook is er weinig variatie in de gameplay, wat het minder aantrekkelijk maakt voor ervaren spelers.

The game was a repetitive mess. Nothing about it was entertaining or well made. It was advised as a 3D platformer and it doesn't even function as that. You fight the same enemies over and over again, and Scratt's attacks have so little reach that you have to basically run into the enemies to register a hit. Not that I would know if I hit them, there is no indication of a successful hit. Just keep mashing the attack button until everything is dead. I was so bored I gave up 2 hours in. I tried to return the game, but Gamestop wouldn't let me...and I wasn't even allowed to trade it in for anything either. I haven't been to game stop in some time, and now I think I'll just stop going all together.
