Performance concerns exist for original 3DS owners experiencing slowdown in double battles. Despite fewer new Pokemon encounters than expected and some linearity, the game balances nostalgia with innovation exceptionally well, earning widespread critical acclaim as potentially the best Pokemon experience created.
