Red Steel voor de Wii biedt een originele ervaring door de motion controls, vooral bij het schieten. De combinatie van schieten en zwaardvechten is vernieuwend, maar het zwaardvechten werkt vaak niet goed en kan frustreren. Grafisch zijn er mooie momenten, zoals explosies, maar de kwaliteit is wisselend en soms zijn er technische problemen zoals framedrops. Ook de voice-acting is niet altijd sterk. Het spel is vooral interessant voor spelers die iets nieuws willen proberen en geduld hebben met de minpunten.

The peek of graphic design and story adventure combine to make up...Redsteel! I seriously start sweating like a pig everytime I play this game because it's so intense! There's so much honor in the game too, it's like some people you shoot but others you duel with a ninja sword because you respect them more. You are on this quest to save your girlfriend, so hundreds, maybe even thousands, must die to save the lovely tattooed Japanese mob boss' daughter...actually, as I describe it I'm not sure if in the end I was the villain or not...weird twist.

It worked fine through most of the levels, but farther on, when I got stuck on a level, it would randomly crash. Other than that, great game!

The gamecontrols can be difficult to get used to. Some segments are really frustrating. Despite its flaws I loved the levels and arti design. The soundtrack was really good aswell. Red Steel was a game doing it's own thing had it's own identity, which can't really be said for the countless COD games (although can also be enjoyable). Great game if you can get passed some control issues. tip: Try Red Steel 2 aswell, the game is completely different in style and gameplay. In my opinion it's one of the few games that atually made the wii 'next-gen'. Massive shame Nintendo dropped motion control when moving onto the Wii U

UbiSoft did it all right when they made this game. It has a good story line, and plays well. My only regret is that they didn't continue the product on to the Wii U.
