Sonic the Hedgehog - PS3 (US)

Yes this game is hard to play. There are loading screens all over the place where they shouldn't be. Talk to an npc to accept the quest -- loading screen -- npc explains what to do in the quest -- loading screen -- finish the quest -- loading screen. There are also loading screens in the middle of cutscenes. Each loading screen is around the minute mark. After that the game will slow down if there's too much on screen, a bright side of this is that you can plan the route you're going to go while you wait for the game to catch up...I guess? Lastly, there are some glitches that cause your character to just stop moving from time to time. Once accept these things as reality and look past them. The levels are really engaging to play, you get to be a whole lot of fan favorite characters and some new ones. The overall story telling is pretty fun. I recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2! ...You know what you're getting into.

This game could have waited for a later release. Its not finished, and the first time I played it, I was dizzy af. I still have the game for the nostalga, but I wish it still caught up with gameplay and graphics of today's standards.

I never got it! I ended up buying it from a pawn shop and love the game, very difficult though.

A lot can really be learned from this game. It has it all: weird camera, uncontrollable speed, really slow parts, and even frequent glitches to keep things spicy! The plentiful loading screens have taught me the meaning of true patience, and coupled with the near constant dying for unavoidable (and often unpredictable) reasons, I am able to really contemplate my own mortality, and how life is just a loading screen to run towards inevitable death. Because we will all die, it's only a matter of time till we get hit by an off screen projectile, trapped in a loop of injury, or by falling through the floor. Truly, Sonic '06 is all the evidence one needs to see that video games have transcended their lowly beginnings to become a form of high art.
