Team Sonic Racing biedt een frisse kart-ervaring door de focus op teamwerk, waarbij spelers samen moeten werken om te winnen. De besturing is strak en de multiplayeropties zijn uitgebreid, zowel lokaal als online. De graphics zijn kleurrijk en de soundtrack is energiek. Wel zijn er nadelen: de game bevat alleen Sonic-personages, waardoor fans van eerdere Sega All-Stars Racing-games minder variatie vinden. De AI van teamgenoten kan soms frustreren, vooral op hogere moeilijkheden, en er ontbreekt een battle mode. De verhaalmodus voegt weinig diepgang toe. Voor wie van coöperatief racen houdt, is dit een sterke keuze, maar wie meer variatie zoekt, kan teleurgesteld zijn.

For some context I played tons of racing games on the highest diffuclty and i played the first game of the series on ds so i understand how to play these games. My only issues is the scaling for any difficulty above normal is way too high, cause no matter how well i drive catching up when sent back is more difficult then it should be. Also the team system is really a set back cause if you do well holding 1st but your team cant catch up too you it usually results in 2nd or 3rd placement which gets frustrating cause it happens often even when you shower them with items to help them.

Great game, but items slow you down too much. In one race I was in first and got hit by an item and was put in seventh place.

The racing is smooth and feels slowish. But the main problem is the 3rd chapter locking of the remainder of the story with 2 unfair challenge races that i think were untested.
