Anyone who wants an in-depth football management sim that keeps them awake until 6am and ruins their marriage shouldn't bother with this. It is bascially FM-lite - a very pared down version that retains the key features but does away with the fluff. It isn't perfect. The 2D match engine is awful (I've turned it off) and the memory used for this would be better spent on a bigger player database or something else. The text engine works ok, though. Also, the scouts are appalling. They either find terrible players or none at all. Also, I'm not entirely sure how this version is an improvement on earlier versions of this game I have played (on the PSP). Apart from being more up to date in terms of player names etc, it seems almost identical. Overall though, I recommend this as a very good football management sim for CM/FM fans of old who, like me, have less time on their hands than they used to.

Football Manager Handheld harks back to the days of CM01-02, when Football Management games were fun and you could blast through a season in an intensive evenings fun. Its not meant to be as in depth at the PC version and is instead intended to be a game you can pick up and play while commuting into work or school, whereas if you spent twenty minutes on football manager and you'll be lucky to have started playing a match.

Just a quick note to describe my disappointment. If you want control over anything other than buying and selling players and tactical management, don't buy this for the psp. It's the most basic management sim I've seen since the days of the spectrum. I can't believe they thought that such a poor quality port should be released. I urge you to stay away, especially if you've enjoyed the pc versions in the past. There's no stadia, the media interaction is "yes/no", no advertising budgets, the board decisions are arbitrary and incomprehensible... On the plus side, it comes in a box.

If you have played the PC versions then don't bother with this. Highly disappointing! If they rate this as the best on PSP then the the others must be awful. If you haven't played the PC versions then I would say you are missing out if you think this will be a good subsitute. I have given the game 1 star because I had to enter a rating to proceed. Don't bother with this or any of the other PSP versions!

I've been a FM since the late 90s. This is the first time I buy it on PSP - BIG MISTAKE, it was always on PC for me. Now, if you are a loyal FM player and most probably end up divorced over it; this is not the game for you - get the PC game. (which I did eventually) This will do for my son, who is 13 year old - that's it. I give it 2 stars becasue I'm comparing it to the PC version.
