Street Fighter V biedt een diep en toegankelijk vechtsysteem dat zowel beginners als gevorderden aanspreekt. De unieke vechters en het V-Skill/V-Trigger systeem zorgen voor veel variatie en plezier, vooral in lokale multiplayer. Echter, bij de lancering was de singleplayer erg beperkt en online spelen is vaak instabiel. Veel extra modi zijn alleen beschikbaar met een PS Plus-abonnement en sommige hardware werkt niet optimaal. Dit maakt het spel vooral geschikt voor spelers die graag samen op de bank spelen en minder voor solo-gamers.
