NHL 2K6 biedt veel spelmodi, een diepgaande franchise en realistische ijshockey-ervaring. De innovatieve Crease Control-goalie besturing is uniek, maar voelt voor veel spelers als een gimmick. De gameplay is solide en de AI is verbeterd, maar de grafische presentatie is teleurstellend en nauwelijks beter dan op oudere consoles. Ook het commentaar en de geluidseffecten worden vaak als zwak ervaren. De prijs is relatief hoog, zeker gezien de minimale verschillen met de vorige generatie. Voor fans van realistische ijshockeygames is het een goede keuze, maar verwacht geen echte next-gen ervaring.

This game is great! Lots of fun, awesome graphics, very realistic sound and commentary, etc. The only problems with this game are the minorly sloppy instant replay transitions, and they don't show the names of the opponents on other teams. I would, maybe, give this game a 4, but the good things rule out the bad, for the most part. Still, highly recommended.

The last NHL game I bought for my Playstation was NHL 2000. NHL 2K6 is a big, big upgrade since then. I love the graphics and the ease of play. The game is so realistic that I find it better than some of the games I see televised on TV.

there are glitches on this game, but it is a very good game for the price you pay for it.
