Beyond Good And Evil

It took me 15 hours to complete this classic game. I didn't hate it, I just found it disappointing. The controls are very awkward, especially for someone like myself who is used to using a controller. The story is interesting to a point, but fairly shallow and never really gets fleshed out. Characters lack any depth whatsoever. The puzzles are all very similar and lack variety, so you'll be doing the same thing repeatedly. The map is quite small and fairly uninteresting. The combat is literally just mashing a mouse button with the occasional dodge, while the sneaking involves contorting your fingers to hold CTRL to crouch, whilst moving Jade with WASD keys. If you're interested in playing this because of it's reputation as a classic, go for it, just be prepared for a disappointing experience.

It's got some quirks, but it's a real fun playthrough

At first it didn't run well even though this game is from 2000s and doesn't have high requirement, it had unbearable frame stutter and latency issues especially during combat scenes, fortunately I managed to fix these issues by installing dgvoodoo 2.

Many 'great old games' are not fun or kinda boring because of convoluted control systems, high difficulty based mostly on poor design or just to make it very difficult, and the story and such are meh at best. This game handles itself well (though I wish I could switch the space and shift keys to not use my camera every time I want to dash), the story is good and the difficulty is definitely fair.
