So far only used in Sony’s high end cameras. These cf express type A cards do make an obvious difference with high resolution and high frame rates, where they are very much faster at saving images than the best SD cards. They are seriously overpriced compared with the faster type B cards which are much cheaper.

Wouldn't really suggest it because it sometimes disconnects in a middle of job ( transferring ) without any reasons and does a lousy job of reading and writing to your memory card.

I use this with a Sony A7 IV. It improves battery life by being more efficient than an SD card. The speed is incredible, you really can just continuously shoot. An expensive but worthwhile upgrade to an SD equivalent.

Although my camera allowed me to transfer files from my Sony CFexpress Type A Card to my laptop, it wasn't able to do so utilising the cards speed; in the end I decided to "bite the bullet" and purchase this reader, despite my wallet begging me not to. The card reader has an all-metal construction, so you at least get some sense of value. I do like the compact size which means it doesn't take much space in my photography bag. Inside the box, you get two different cables: • USB-A to USB-C. • USB-C to USB-C. I've never dealt with such fast speeds before, so when I transferred a 230MB file from my memory card to my laptop, it happened instantaneously, there wasn't even a progress bar, it was that fast. I do feel the price of the reader is a tad high, hence 4/5 stars, but undoubtedly, this is a solid product.
