Jean Patou Women’s fragrances Joy Eau de Toilette Spray 30 ml

Jean Patou Joy is a legendary, classic fragrance that delivers a sophisticated floral composition of jasmine and rose. The Eau de Toilette version features a pronounced jasmine character with a bright, fizzy neroli opening that transitions into a beautiful, balanced floral heart. The drydown is where this fragrance truly shines, developing into a warm, elegant base that lasts impressively for 6-8+ hours. However, the opening is intensely strong and can be overwhelming, with indolic floral notes that some find too powerful or even unpleasant. Quality control issues have been reported, with some recent bottles smelling synthetic and muddled rather than the expected clear jasmine-rose duet. Skin chemistry plays a significant role—some wearers find it sharp and unpleasant, while others experience its magic. The accompanying body products are disappointing, with overly strong, soapy formulations that don't complement the fragrance. Best suited for those who appreciate classic florals and can tolerate a powerful opening.

Gentle floral fragrances with hint of gardenia and rose. Once the most expensive and celebrated perfume in the world.

I love Joy perfume (best rose ever) but Eau de Joy not so much. If there is a rose in there I don't smell it. All I smell is jasmine and pee. I'm not afraid of civet normally (I love vintage Van Cleef and Arpels First edt and she is pretty pungent stuff) but on me Eau de Joy is just too too much. "He has incontinence issues." is not a look I'm going for when I wear perfume.

I have used Joy for years, as did my mother and a dear friend. When I put it on, I remember them. I adore it, and wouldn't use any other perfume.
