Karl Lagerfeld Classic is een krachtige, klassieke herengeur uit de jaren 70 met een rijke, ambergem-achtige, kruidige en tabaksachtige karakter. Veel gebruikers prijzen de uitstekende houdbaarheid en sterke sillage, vooral in koude maanden. De geur is complex en ontwikkelt zich goed, maar is ook erg sterk en kan voor sommigen te overweldigend of oud-modieus aanvoelen. Niet geschikt voor warm weer of als subtiele daggeur. Wie van vintage, krachtige geuren houdt, kan hier blij mee zijn, maar blind kopen wordt afgeraden.

The first date. The first glow. The first flutter in the stomach. That's how I felt about the fragrance after the shopping, unboxing, and first spray. After that, the initial "love" faded. Everyday life returned, and the habits around it demanded their place. New perfumes joined the collection, and the gray bottle disappeared to the back of the shelf. There it was meant to spend a full year. Today I walked past it. The first hint of autumn was at the door. Today back in black. Dr. Martens. Which fragrance? A cold garden shower after sports called for a scent that warms. Lagerfeld Classic Grey does exactly that here. And there was the feeling again. Just more mature. Love. Choosing something new again and again and realizing that you haven't forgotten it. The fragrance is warm, fresh, creamy, and herbal at the same time. Incredibly well balanced in my nose, I find the price-performance fantastic, and the projection is more than good for me. Thank you.

The bottle quickly ignited my curiosity. My thoughts on it: Does Grey have something to do with Classic or Photo? As soon as the delivery arrived, I dove right in. After the first spray, I was surprised. I could detect cedarwood with subtle vanilla. This went on for a few days. Then I set it aside for a longer time because the cedarwood was too overpowering for me. Why was this bottle chosen? Months later, I picked it up again and was astonished. The cedarwood was no longer so dominant. Did Grey need more maturation time? I asked myself again, why this bottle? What is the message? Smelling it again on my forearm, I recognized something from the past. A fragrance note that subtly weaves back and forth in the "gray" veil. This note was also present in Lagerfeld Photo. I really like it now.

Lagerfeld classic was my very first perfume, that was in the early 80s, which I liked immediately. The fantastic long-lasting scent, with a pleasant sandalwood-like note will probably stay in my memory for a lifetime. I will soon get myself a bottle in the hope that it still smells as good as it did back then.

Just one awesome summer scent - sweet, juicy watermelon made even more refreshing with hints of English Cucumber and sweetened just a bit more by fresh, ripe fig. Drying down, this meets sexy, dark and mysterious Datura blossom, hints of soft leather and a caressing musk.
