Hoka One One Loopschoen 'SPEEDGOAT 7' grijs / zwart / wit

Wasn’t expecting to be this disappointed with these shoes. The photos I’m showing are from after only 70 miles of use in the Sierra mountains. At multiple points on the shoe, parts of it are already coming undone. Most backpackers usually expect their shoes to last it at least a few hundred miles, so unfortunately I wouldn’t really recommend these. Especially not after spending almost $200 on them for not even a weeklong backpacking trip. Pros: I would say they’re pretty comfortable, though I did have issues with the back-lip of the shoe digging into my Achilles towards the end of my trip which added extra foot pain.

I have worn these shoes for the past 10 days. And I wanted to hate them. I am a bit brand loyal. But. I love them. I have gone on walks on grass and pavement. I went hiking in them. I worked my horse on the ground in them. I attended a cross country race (lots of HOKAS) in them for a photo shoot. They are so comfortable. I am sold. The Speedgiats are my new “go to” shoe.

Awful color choices for the women's Speedgoat 7. It's like Hoka's marketing team were shown the absolute worst early 1990s tennis shoe color palette ran with it, so to speak. Also, you can't necessarily size up for the Speedgoat 7 if you you have wider feet because longer doesn't = wider. Think twice before you buy these.

Overall these are decent shoes. I don't like how thin the tongue on these is - it's paper thin. If I tie them tight I can feel a pinch point from the laces. I'm also not in love with the way they look - they make me think of Dad Shoes. But they fit my feet pretty well and have decent padding and are comfortable to walk in.

WOWWWW I upgraded to these from a pair of trendy trail running shoes for added comfort and grip knowing I was hiking Half Dome soon. I broke them in, and am typing this 1 day post Half Dome hike. You NEEEEED these - I cannot believe how comfortable they are (I got a half size up). My feet didn’t ache at all, I couldn’t believe it. And the shoes didn’t budge/slip once on the granite going up/down the cables. I’m obsessed with these!
