Saramonic Microfoon SmartMic voor iOS Apparaten

I have not done much testing with the product yet, but here's my initial thoughts. It's compact and handy to use - just attach and ... it starts picking up sounds. I first attached it to my OPPO A53, but it didn't seem to work. Maybe OPPO does not support audio through its USB-C port. So I tried it on my Chromebook. Compared to the native mic, I can pick up sounds much clearer due to reduced background noise. So I assume it will be good to pick up sounds from all the directions. This mic is not for speaking to. You don't speak into the microphone - it is designed to pick up the sounds from all the directions around the microphone. Only the drawback - I cannot replay the recorded sound with the microphone still attached to the USB port. It seems my Chromebook tried to replay the sound through the USB port, not from the internal speaker. I had to detach the microphone before I can hear the recorded sound. Maybe there is a setting to go around this, but I haven't figured it out yet.
