De HIFIMAN HE400se is een betaalbare planaire magnetische koptelefoon die uitblinkt in middenfrequenties en een open geluidsveld biedt. Hoewel de basweergave beperkt is, vooral in de sub-bas, biedt het een heldere en gedetailleerde luisterervaring. Het ontwerp is open-back, wat geluidlek veroorzaakt, en het vereist een krachtige versterker om optimaal te functioneren. De koptelefoon is degelijk gebouwd en biedt modificatiemogelijkheden, maar heeft geen ingebouwde microfoon of afstandsbediening.

Great headphones. Sound is spacious and easy on the ears (I am on my early 60's). This is my first pair of Planar Magnetic headphones and I am really liking it. They make you want to listen to all your favorites songs and instrumental pieces. I have been changing and upgrading my 2-channel speaker system, since 2011. I think I have finally reached the upgrade end for that system. I wanted to get back into headphones like I did back in the late 70's when I was a teenager. I had the Koss Pro4AAA ...

HIFIMAN HE400SE are excellent headphones with a natural and intimate presentation, with an excellent charming message. These are not bass headphones, and they have solid drive requirements. As for the price of 109 USD, it is extremely attractive. If you like vocals and jazz, this is definitely a model worth considering. Of course, there are headphones on the market with more bass. Just like with more details or a wider soundstage. However, they do not cost $109. This makes the HE400SE with the black stock cable look really good. The only downside is that they are quite hard to drive and require a good night source. However, they can repay you with a beautiful and balanced sound.

Arrived 2 days after purchase, feel strong and durable, very good sound quality however I was using dollar store earbuds before so I am not an audio expert. Would recommend for someone who wants good audio that doesn’t cost 300$+

Solid entry level headphone! Sounds nice and leans a little warm when compared to other "entry" gear. Has decent low end and nice detail. Delivers an appealing overall sound that belies it's entry level price. Needs a little power to make it sing but when connected to a proper headphone amplifier it truly shines and sounds like a true auddiophile headphone.
