HP Envy 6420e All-in-One Printer

had this printer and it worked fine initially and then one day it decided it was never going to print anything black ever again. i tried multiple ink cartridges (all HP branded) and put it thru the clean mode and it never worked. it would print everything EXCEPT black which was the most frustrating thing ever. Almost seemed like a programming thing too because i would print out cartoon images and it wouldn’t print the black outline and they looked so weird. definitely wasn’t out of ink so it was a complete waste of money.

As a printer i am sure it works just as well as any other printer but without the enforced contract to buy the ink for it, the printer is linked to the service, canceling the subcription disables the printer. i did not think such a thing was legal but here it is. dont buy this, the sooner we get rid of this kind of extrotion the better. i returned mine as soon as i found out about it.

Great printer, but incredibly hard to set up, and getting ink was really hard, as there was no flyer inside that was supposed to have a pin number on it.

All home users want is a printer that works, is simple to set up, simple to check ink levels etc. The set up is very fiddly through an app (how ludicrous). It doesn't have a proper or useful control screen. It doesn't even recognise its own cartridges most of the time! Really appalling. I've had it about 3 months, managed to print about 150 pages. It's now going in the bin! No more HPs for me.

I bought this printer under 1 year ago and have had nothing but problems with it. It is dreadful at colour printing, with lots of 'banding' and uneven print coverage. It constantly loses connection with my brand-new HP laptop. Honestly, I never write reviews on Amazon. But I feel obliged to help people from making the same massive mistake I did. Please don't buy this printer.
