MSI 7C95-017R B550M Pro-Vdh

Prima midden klasse moederbord. Bij de installatie van de M2-ssd moet je opletten dat je overbodige stand-off niet laat zitten. Die drukt anders middenin je M2-ssd. Enig probleem probleem wat ik tegenkwam was dat mijn Aegis Gskill quad kit niet 'out of the box' werkte. Ook niet na bios update. Na handmatig timing instellen wel op basis 2666mhz maar geen xmp. Dus uiteindelijk maar geruild met een setje Corsair Vengeance van een andere computer.

I’ve been a fan of MSI hardware for years, and given my budget I’m very satisfied with this motherboard in terms of value for money. Paired with my RYZEN 5 5500 and my 16G TEXTORME RAM stick, Windows 11 works properly and my games run smoothly, so I’m very happy with my choices and the advice I received. Thank you, LDLC.

Nothing to say about this motherboard itself, which matches its specifications. BUT... Secure Boot UEFI is enabled by default... so if you want to use it with an old graphics card (which does not have a GOP driver in its firmware, but only has a VBIOS, yes I copied that from a website, it’s not from me!), the screen will stay black, and it will be impossible to access the Bios to disable Secure Boot/UEFI! :/ So it is not the ideal motherboard for upgrading an old PC. In short, I had to buy a new graphics card. It also has a great feature, which allows you to upgrade/downgrade the BIOS with a USB key by pressing a button, without needing any component (neither CPU, nor ram... just a power supply), but with the two USB keys I tried, it did not work. Too bad.

I called on LDLC to repair my 10-year-old desktop PC. After diagnostics, the problem was coming from the motherboard (MSI A32M Bazooka), which therefore had to be replaced (+ change the processor and install an SSD hard drive). Today my computer works perfectly (under Linux Mint), I can play games via proton on Steam and do photo retouching and light video editing without any issues.

Great motherboard, does its job well and easy to understand the connections and card placement. Just lacks a bit of RGB, but that's normal given the advertised price. It's really good.
