DO NOT BUY. THE BOBBINS ARE A NIGHTMARE. Bobbins wind very unevenly, are difficult to insert properly, do not unscrew for changing / disposing thread - and CONSTANTLY jam. My old Singer lasted me 45 years - but I am throwing this one away after very little use. What good is it to have dozens of stitch patterns if the basics are so unreliable?

No place for spool of thread . can't use it until I get it.

This is a good machine. It is light which is great for moving it around and not great for keeping it in place for sewing. Still it is fine and works well. It doesn’t like cheap thread, so avoid a lot of hassle by using decent thread. I had to reinforce the weight of the foot pedal by velcroing a piece of wood to it. Otherwise it moved around too much and was annoying. The fancy stitches are fun and the machine is easy to learn. I am pleased with this purchase.
